This year’s Matariki in the City will be bigger and better than ever! With a new venue and teaming up with Matariki ki Waikato Market Day, gather your whaanau together and join us at Hamilton Gardens, Gate 1 to celebrate all things Matariki.

Entry to the event, all arts and crafts activities and games are FREE

Matariki in the City is an opportunity to see, hear and experience traditional and contemporary maatauranga Maaori through live entertainment, mahi toi – Maaori arts and crafts; taakaro Maaori – contemporary and traditional games, face painting and a hauora hub – free access to a wide variety of health services including rongoaa, mirimiri, childhood dental, cancer screening and so much more.
