Ka kitea a Matariki, Ka rere te Piharau

The kaupapa celebrates the rising of Matariki and the many associated works in and around our district of Maungatautari. It remembers a time when thousands and thousands of Piharau would swim up the river against harsh currents. This now metaphoric act of nature is remembered and celebrated as we reflect on the Agricultural, Cultural, and Conservational acts over the past year. Not to mention the passing of close relatives and their contributions over lifetimes. Lets celebrate Maungatautari Communnity! Mauriora!
